‘We wouldn’t have been f***ing 14th’ – Roy Keane’s verdict on Marcus Rashford and Casemiro criticism
1 min readFormer Manchester United captain Roy Keane has insisted Marcus Rashford and Casemiro should not be chastised for arranging a transatlantic getaway during the international break.
The United duo were spotted in America over the last few days, as they had time off during the break in the Premier League season.
Appearing on the latest episode of The Overlap alongside his former United team-mate Gary Neville, Keane suggested the long-haul trip for Rashford and Casemiro was not the biggest issue concerning new United boss Ruben Amorim.
“They would have had that booked and sorted a few weeks ago,” said Keane.
“I wouldn’t be a big fan of it but I wouldn’t have been annoyed. I would have thought there is bigger stuff to worry about than what they’ve been doing.
“Players like Rashford and these other lads, going to the States and going on private jets… that’s the norm for them.
“He (Rashford) has got a mental break, he’s got to get away and has got to rest with friends – then you talk about the choice of venue.
“How far do you fly, what’s the time difference, is that going to give a jet lag issue, is that going to give a stiffness issue from being on a flight for 12 hours?
