For some reason the reporters at Friday’s press conference avoided the issue that was right in front of them, as plain as the nose on Pep Guardiola’s face.
Visible on said nose was the scratch the Manchester City gaffer had inflicted on himself as his team collapsed against Feyenoord in the last 15 minutes on Tuesday night. Leading 3-0 at the Etihad, they suddenly fell apart, conceding three goals that their veteran midfielder Ilkay Gundogan described as “inexplicable” lapses.
