Mikel Arteta should put Kai Havertz out of his misery. The deployment of the German as Arsenal’s main striker is becoming an act of cruelty. It’s time to tell him, “for you Kai, the striking is over”.
Nothing sums up Havertz’s unsuitability for the role better than the miss he perpetrated a minute from the end of normal time against Manchester United . It was one of the great misses of the 21st century, one worthy of a spot in the all-time pantheon of spurned opportunities.
