For Shamrock Rovers, a strange week starts in serene surroundings. Molde is a place to visit to get away from the world, yet it’s a staging point for the Hoops as they enter a new one.
Stephen Bradley’s players were able to walk the streets in splendid isolation after landing on Wednesday afternoon. Molde has a population of around 20,000 but it feels smaller, with the main rush-hour noise generated by boats travelling in the fjord that provides a stunning postcard backdrop to the venue for the first leg of this Conference League play-off encounter.
