Amid the hype and the hope that surrounds the move of today’s game between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers across the Liffey to Dublin 4, and the tumult attached to what will be a modern record for attendance at a league game, it’s easy to forget that there’s still a football match to be played.
Bohs will make a handsome profit on the day. Officials are wary of naming a figure, but a Dalymount source noted that this game, with an attendance nibbling at the 35,000 mark, has the potential to be “akin to qualifying for Europe, that’s how big this is.”
