Ireland captain Nathan Collins says the national side are desperate to end their wait for a major tournament qualification but must become horrible to play against if they are to reach the 2026 World Cup.
Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men learned their opponents for next year’s World Cup qualifying campaign yesterday and will face Hungary, Armenia, and the winner of a Nations League play-off between Portugal and Denmark, in the Group F battle to reach the finals, as Ireland bid to make a first World Cup since 2002.
